The Lodge entry is on the mid-level, with one floor above and one below. On the mid-level floor, you will find the great room, kitchen, dining area, half-bath, and a master bedroom with a king bed, walk-in shower and soaking tub. This bedroom is ideal for those who do not wish to climb stairs. The recommended summer temperature for the mid-level thermostat is 75 degrees.

The upper floor has two bedrooms and a loft. The queen bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and spectacular views to the north and east. Across the loft on this floor is a twin room with an ensuite bathroom containing two twin beds, perfect for children, with an additional rollaway bed in the closet should you need an extra. The recommended temperature for the summer season is 72 degrees for each of these rooms. The upstairs rooms will generally be warmer than the other floors. The cool air from the top floor will spill down to the main floor living space, keeping everyone comfortable.

The lower floor contains a Junior Master with a king bed and north-facing views, a family room with a full complement of games such as billiards, table tennis, darts, poker/game table, a wonderful family space for movie night, and a bunk room perfect for children. The bunk room sleeps six and shares the ensuite bathroom with the Jr. Master.  The lower floor, while having spectacular north-facing, long-range mountain views, is built into the side of the mountain, keeping it naturally cool. The general recommendation for the thermostat on this level is off. There are fans in the Junior Master and family room should you need circulation. 

Golden Arrow Lodge has a new air-conditioning/heat pump system as of July 2024. It is a single unit for all three floors and has a total of 5 thermostats.  It is very important that either the air-conditioning or the heat be on at any one time. NOT BOTH!  To transition from air-conditioning to heat, please turn all five thermostats off and then set the heat according to your wishes.  To transition from heat to air-conditioning, please set all thermostats to off and then set them to the air-conditioning temperature you prefer. Failure to follow this method of transition will cause the system to shut down and a service call to be made. Additionally, please remember for your comfort that heat rises.  There may be occasions when heat is needed on the lower floor but not in the rest of the house.

Golden Arrow Lodge has two fireplaces.  An indoor fireplace that runs on gas.  This remote control can be found in the great room end-table drawer.  Simply press and hold on while pointing the remote at the fireplace. The fire will first go to a low flame, and a continuous pressing will go to a high flame. To turn it off, please press and hold the off/low button until it is completely off. Please remember to turn the fireplace off when not in use.  Should the gas run out during occupancy, it may not be able to be refilled right away.  Our outdoor fireplace is made for wood.  There are fireplace tools for your convince.  Please order wood through the rental office if you need a larger quantity. Occasionally, you may find wood for a previous tenant.  Please feel free to use it and likewise pass the favor along should you be inclined.

If you have ordered Hot Tub Service, the tub will be cleaned and filled with fresh water and set at 80 degrees, ready for your use.  The oversized waffle towels are rolled and placed in a red wagon in the utility room on the lower floor.  You can easily roll the wagon tub-side, so you have the towels at your disposal.  To dry them between use, there is a wooden towel holder near the hot tub. For your safety, please use plastic when enjoying a beverage in the tub or tub area.

The Lodge has two refrigerators.  One located in the kitchen and the second in the garage.  Please feel free to use both for storage of larger amounts of groceries, especially for bigger parties.  The kitchen refrigerator is equipped with an ice dispenser, which makes suitable amounts of ice for small to medium parties.  If you have a larger party, we recommend purchasing an additional bag of ice and storing it in the garage refrigerator's freezer.

The two garage remote controls are located on the desk in the mud room.  While it is not necessary to use the garage, it is recommended for parties with more than two cars to leave outdoor parking space open for additional vehicles.  Please remember to put them back on the desk in the mud room before checking out. 

Our network is appropriately named Golden Arrow Lodge, and the Password is SMG2023!  Golden Arrow televisions utilize the YouTubeTV app on any television in the house.  Naturally, you may also access your streaming services as you would at home.  Please remember to sign out before your departure.  Some televisions may require the usage of one remote to turn on and another to access YouTube. The additional remote is made available.  In the loft of Golden Arrow, you will find an office/library area including a desk with dual monitors, a camera, and available connection cables that can be plugged into your device. Adapters may be necessary depending on the port style. 

To lock the doors of Golden Arrow Lodge, lift the handle and then turn the lock.  For a demonstration of this, please see the guest information book located on the bottom shelf of the entry table.

We very much hope you enjoyed your stay and kindly ask you the following:

Trash - Please place trash in the large garbage cans in the garage.  Should the cans become full and you need to dispose of trash during your stay, there are dumpsters located near the Smoky Moutain Retreat Rental Office.

Air-Conditioning/Heat Pump - During warmer times of the year, please leave the air conditioning set to 78 degrees, and in the colder months, please leave the heat at 55 degrees.  Remember, the units must be set on either air-conditioning or heat, but not both. 

Fridge/Pantry - Please remove and dispose of all food items.

Hot Tub - please reset the hot tub to 80 degrees and place the cover back on.

SMR Rental Office - Please follow their instructions for check-out procedures.
