Our location holds deep historical significance; the land was originally inhabited by the Cherokee Tribe, and in honor of their legacy, all the roads in Smoky Mountain Retreat bear Cherokee names. Our lodge is situated on Natsi Trail, named after the Natchez Indians, a small yet formidable warrior tribe from the Mississippi River area. The Natchez were welcomed into Cherokee territory, enriching the cultural tapestry of present-day Western North Carolina, South Carolina, and Northern Georgia. The lodge features five spacious bedrooms, each offering spectacular long-range mountain views. On the top floor, there are two large bedrooms: one with a queen bed and an ensuite bathroom, and another with two twin beds and an ensuite bathroom. Additionally, there's a loft area that serves as a home office, providing both functionality and comfort.
The main floor of Golden Arrow Lodge boasts a grand great room adorned with a large stone fireplace, complemented by a rustic antler chandelier and a well-equipped cocktail bar, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. Adjacent to the great room is a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room ideal for family gatherings, and a convenient laundry room for added convenience. The main floor also features the expansive master bedroom, complete with a comfortable king bed, a large closet, an ensuite bathroom, and a luxurious soaking tub designed for ultimate relaxation.
Descending to the lower floor, you'll discover the junior master bedroom, which includes another king bed, a walk-in closet, and an ensuite bathroom shared with the adjacent bunk room. The bunk room is charmingly furnished with two rustic wood bunk beds (twin over queen), a cozy reading chair, and a delightful collection of children's books, making it a perfect retreat for younger guests.
The lower floor also hosts the family room, designed for entertainment with amenities such as billiards, table tennis, darts, poker, a custom gaming system, and more—a true haven for family fun and memorable movie nights in the classic Smoky Mountain cabin style.
